The GYFC Ultimate Teammate Award is presented each year to the player within the club who epitomises what being a great teammate is - someone who looks out for others, treats them with respect, and is supportive when they are feeling down for whatever reason.
The award is dedicated in the memory of Liam, who was the most caring and gentle person, always helpful and polite, who looked out for others no matter where he would be.
The award is there to recognise those who show a good example to others - to be helpful and treat others how you'd like to be treated. It helps teach our players to look after one another.
It is also there to promote the understanding that no one should be ashamed of talking about their feelings. To show that it's ok not to be ok, and that no one should be afraid to talk.
