Community Coaching

Gurnard Youth FC is committed to developing all-inclusive football sessions that are available to everyone in our community. In our experience, unless children commit to football at a very young age, there often aren’t enough opportunities for them to get involved at a later date - and this is just wrong.

Some children develop more slowly than others, and some aren’t interested in football until they get older and their enthusiasm is sparked perhaps by following a team or by a big national football event.  

Community Coaching sessions are for players (girls and boys) of all abilities and are based on the ethos of our club: Enjoyment, Engagement and Development. They allow children to develop at their own pace without the potential pressure of official league matches. This gives them the confidence to join one of our teams – or a team from another club – when they are ready and the opportunity arises. Some may never want to join an official team but just enjoy the exercise and sociability of training and playing with their friends – and that is fine with us.  

At GYFC we are committed to providing the right playing pathway for all our children, and Community Coaching is an important part of this.  Please contact us if you would like to play or be involved with coaching and managing these sessions - see below for details.
